Encouraging Self-Love , Higher Education and Self-Employment

Are these values you hold dear? Would you like to see these values have more impact in underserved communities, like DC’s wards 7 & 8? Your gift to Momma’s Safe Haven will help make that possible.

These values (principles) are the foundation (guiding principles) of Momma’s Safe Haven, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization founded on the need (whose mission is) to be a support(ing) bridge to those in need of resources to get them to the next level in their lives. We believe that it takes a village to raise a child and we invite you to be a part of that village, as we work to “taking back our streets”.

We have four core programs that help to bring the values of Self-Love, Higher Education, and Self-Employment to (the youth, young adults and single parents?) (the community) (throughout  the community).

Focuses on domestic violence, sexual abuse, teen/single parenting, homeless, coping skills, juvenile delinquency, financial literacy, healthy relationships and parenting classes. Through our workshops, classes,     events and activities, the program provides resources and motivates participants to  “Dream Big, Work Hard and Never Give UP!!!”

Provides production classes to our youth (community) on all aspects of film and documentary story telling with instructors that are industry professionals. Students learn everything from writing, directing, acting, editing; and gives them an opportunity

to tell their stories, express their creativity, and allows the community to have a voice and give others a window seat into the DC culture.

Is a program with financial literacy, marketing 101, and public speaking classes as well as workshops on how to start a business. It also hosts an annual awards event that honors businesses, organizations and individuals for their outstanding services to the community. Our goal is to raise awareness about self-employment and ownership; as well as being conscious consumers that support black owned business. This networking event, filled with resources on how to start a business or a tax exempt organization to aspiring entrepreneurs; bridges the gap between business owners and the community, the youth and seniors.

Is a program that partners with other organizations to showcase and provide a platform for the youth to express themselves through art, dance, singing, skits, poetry, comedy and fashion in front of their peers, parents, and community. It was designed to give DMV youth a positive outlet that creates opportunities for success.

Here is what some of our participants and Alumni have to say about the impact Momma’s Save Haven has had on their lives:

“I’ve been searching for a safe and secure learning program for my son…this program in the section 8 ward is exactly what we need in every community. My son and other kids look forward to participating in Momma’s Safe Haven…you’re the star and fire in my son’s life and other kids.” Milli Green

“Momma’s Safe Haven is so amazing. It helps me focus when chaos is around me. It helps me stay away from drugs…I enjoy coming all the time…it is so helpful. Overall without Momma’s Safe Haven I wouldn’t know what to do.” Lamar Smith

All our programs are FREE of charge and since 2014, Momma’s Safe Haven has worked with thousands of families through our programs; thanks to generous sponsors, partners, and affiliates but we still need your help!!!

All donations are tax deductible and will have a tremendous impact on the life of a young boy or girl (youth or adult) and help them have skills, vision, and motivation to “Dream Big, Work Hard, and Never Give Up”!!!!!!!

It is through generous donations from supporters like you that Momma’s Safe Haven has been able to provide life changing experiences and classes to hundreds of participants since 2014, and could not do it with out you!!!!!!!

Thank you in advance.
